I can't seem to be able to download Canon RAW files, neither from an old S45 or from my newer Rebel XT. When I hook the camera to the mac, Iphoto comes up and downloads all files automatically, except the RAW files. When I try to use the Canon software, it will not detect the camera. Is there a simple way to download RAW files to a Mac? I spent all of my beautiful Saturday afternoon trying to find a way to import photos from my Canon camera to my iMac mid-2011 that I recently upgraded to Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite, only to find out that, according to Apple Support Chat, Canon no longer provides driver or software support for photo transfer from Canon cameras to Apple iMacs running Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite. ● Start the EOS Utility application on your Mac and click 'Connect to Camera' to connect your computer to your camera. Select your camera's photos in the Utility application and then click to import those images into a folder on your Mac desktop. ● Start iPhoto and click 'File' and then 'Import'. To ensure that you can use all Picture Style files, download the latest version of Digital Photo Professional from Canon's Web site. With Digital Photo Professional Ver. 2.0.1.4 for Mac OS X, saving the multiple RAW images in a bach-processing is not possible with the images Picture Style file applied. Connect the camera to the computer via a USB cable and use Canon EOS Utility 3 to download files. Canon doesn’t supply the necessary cable, but it can be had for under $15. Canon refers to the cable as the interface cable, which helps to explain the part name: IFC-400PCU.
